The Healing Power of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is one of the most life-changing teachings in the Bible. It not only frees us from the weight of resentment, but it also brings us closer to the heart of God. Jesus taught that forgiveness is essential to the Christian life: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” (Matthew 6:14).
God has given us the ultimate example by forgiving us in Christ. Despite our faults, He offers us grace and restoration. Likewise, we must forgive others, not as a personal favor, but as an act of obedience and love.
Forgiving does not mean forgetting the harm received, but rather letting go of resentment and trusting in God’s justice. Prayer and dependence on the Holy Spirit will help us free our hearts from bitterness.
Who do you need to forgive today? By doing so, you will experience the peace and freedom that only God can give.
Prayer of Repentance for Salvation, Peace, and Eternal Security with Christ
(For an unsaved person seeking God in the midst of illness and death)
Heavenly Father,
Today I come before You acknowledging that I have lived far from Your will. I have sinned and walked in my ways, but now I see my need for You. You are the only true God, the Creator of my life, and the only One who can save me.
Lord Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that You rose again to give me eternal life. Even though I have failed, You love me and offer me forgiveness. Today I repent of my sins and ask You to cleanse me, to make me a new person.
I do not want to face death without the assurance of being with You. Your Word says, "He who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). Today I put my faith in You, Jesus. I receive You as my Lord and Savior.
Lord, if You give me more time on this earth, I want to live for You, with a changed heart, obeying You and walking in Your truth. But if my time has come, give me peace and the assurance that my eternal destiny is in Your hands. I want to be with You in heaven, I want my death not to be the end, but the beginning of eternal life at Your side.
Thank You, Lord, that I am Yours now. My life and my death belong to You. I trust in Your love and in Your promise that "he who believes in You has eternal life" (John 3:16).
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Difference between fearing death or expecting it with confidence
Psalm 90:12
"Teach us to number our days in such a way that we may bring wisdom to our hearts."
Death is not the end for those of us who are in Christ, but the beginning of eternal glory. Living spiritually prepared means:
✅ Securing our salvation in Christ.
✅ Living in holiness and obedience to God.
✅ Not clinging to earthly things but focusing on the eternal.
✅ Being at peace with God and with others.
✅ Remaining faithful until the end.
Revelation 14:13
"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labors, for their works follow them."
If we live this way when death comes, we can say with confidence: "Lord, into Your hands I commit my spirit." (Luke 23:46).
